Who I Am

I am a fitness enthusiast taking steps toward to becoming an exceptional strength and conditioning coach. The more I learned and experienced, the more I found out about myself and what it takes to be a good mentor. 

I began lifting in my early 20's, and was never really athletic. I am 5'4" (163 cm) and only recently weighed around 150 lbs (68 kg). In high school I weighed 125 lbs (56.7 lbs) and could barely bench press the bar. I spent years teaching and coaching myself how to lift, now it's safe to say I'm a lot stronger and wiser.

As a Coach & Trainer..

I'm about what YOU'RE about. Personally I love lifting heavy weights, being as strong as I can be and pushing myself to do what I can do. But that's me, I want to know what you're about, and get you where you want to be.

Some people just want to look good and feel good, others want to put on a shirt or a pair of jeans and fill it out in the right places, while some just want to know that in 10 or 15 years, they'll still be able to do what they love to do.

I want to make health, fitness and wellness as approachable as I can for you. It doesn't mean dying and punishing yourself in the gym. If you're busy and have 20 minutes max twice a week, we'll do what we can. Don't want to be sore for your weekend plans? Great! There's a life outside of the gym and your work place that I still want you to continue and enjoy.

October 2017 - Severe Ankle Sprain

Accidents happen

During an applied methods class, I had jumped up to tap a volleyball over my opponent's hand. Unfortunately his foot was underneath the net and in our side of the court, which I had happened to land upon. After one of the most excruciating pains of my life, we went to the ER and the x-rays show no broken bones.

November 2018 - Ankle Surgery

Even after months of physiotherapy, the pain and severe ankle restriction was still present. A few months later, an MRI found a piece of cartilage had torn off and was stuck within the joint. The surgeon believed was the problem and performed an arthroscopic procedure, removing the piece of cartilage. However, to this day I have less than half of an average person's range of motion and reoccurring pains every day. 

Personal Goals

As I am on the tail end of a Bachelor's of Physical Education and Coaching at Douglas College, I understand the value that wisdom, intelligence and knowledge hold. Through a variety of Sport Science courses such as: Nutrition, Motor Skill Acquisition and Exercise Physiology there are fundamentals that exist. My experience as a registered BCRPA Fitness Leader showed me that delivery must be tailored to fit the the individuals. It is also necessary for me to train constantly to gain a personal perspective and enhance my understanding of the process.

Once I complete my undergrad degree, I will begin to work towards becoming a certified strength and conditioning coach with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. After a few years gaining practical experience I will get a Masters degree in either Kinesiology or High Performance Coaching.

I would like to continue to blend my current roles in the future, taking research into practical applications, educating less experienced trainers and coaching athletes of all levels.

Currently I am planning on competing in Olympic Weightlifting for the year 2020, aiming to qualify for Provincials in 2021.

Outside of training...

Before I got into fitness, olympic weight lifting or powerlifting, dance was my number one passion.

After finishing my first year apprenticeship as an automotive technician, I figured out it wasn't for me. I then tried university life for a few semesters, and found that wasn't for me either, not yet anyways. 


Then I decided that you're only young and dumb once so carpe diem. I got into a dance company, competed, performed in shows and the list goes on...
